For mixed race people stuck in relationship patterns that aren’t working

Resolve one sticky relationship problem in four weeks

Rescue

Relationship

A 4 week coaching program for mixed race people integrating relationship and nervous system coaching

Because belonging is an inside-out process.

As a mixed race person, you’ve spent your life reading the room and adjusting yourself to fit in.

And yet, after all this hard work, you still don’t really have relationships where you actually feel seen, supported, or like you belong.

You intellectually understand that in order to feel closer to other people, you need be more authentic and vulnerable, but you keep repeating the same patterns like:

  • Hurriedly saying “yeah, good” when friends ask how you are – and then returning the question before they can ask anything else

  • Rushing to take care of your siblings crisis-of-the-week because you feel guilty for having boundaries and limits

  • Self-selecting out of cultural spaces because you aren’t sure if you belong

  • Over-explaining why it hurt your feelings when your cousin reminds you “you’re only half”

Repeating these patterns isn’t a failure.

It’s your nervous system busting ASS to protect you from the pain of being misunderstood or rejected.

You’ve listened to podcasts on these topics, read the books, even gone to talk therapy, and this all helped you understand yourself better — but if understanding were enough, you wouldn’t still feel so stuck.

If you really want to feel more grounded and able to express your feelings and needs more easily then you need to actually build the relationship skills and nervous system capacity to move differently.

Because when you have this, you can easily do things like:

  • Express your needs and feelings in your closest relationships without feeling like a burden

  • Manage ongoing family conflict without feeling like it’s affecting every other area of your life

  • Finally initiate the conversation you’ve been rehearsing in the shower for the last six months

  • Ask people who share your values and interests to hang out without talking yourself out of it

  • Or establish a mutual aid practice for chronic illness flares

Hi, I’m Raina.

I’m a mixed race somatic coach with nearly a decade of experience as a somatic-oriented trauma therapist, 15 years as a yoga teacher, and a background in community health education.

I grew up in a deeply segregated town, with ancestry rooted in Africa, Europe, and Asia. Belonging was never easy or simple for me. I understand the pain that comes from being in-between cultures, feeling like an outsider, and enduring microaggressions, othering, and flat out rejection.

My own sense of belonging became stronger when I stopped trying to make myself fit into spaces where I wasn’t seen and focused on building relationships that aligned with who I actually was and what I needed.

I created Relationship Rescue to help other biracial and multiracial people do the same thing. I’ve supported well over 200+ mixed people in my career and I can’t wait to help you too!

From avoiding vulnerable situations to showing up authentically in Black social spaces

Before coaching, Kat (Mixed Black) often felt shaky and nauseous when they were misunderstood. To avoid those sensations, they held back in relationships and opted out of Black social spaces, even though they wanted a strong connection to the community.

Through somatic capacity-building exercises, Kat learned to remain more grounded while meeting new people, setting boundaries, and navigating vulnerable moments.

As a result, Kat says “I feel much more grounded in my own sense of self and able to distinguish others' needs from my own. I'm confident that I can build relationships that feel good for me from a place of authenticity. Our work together has helped me feel more deeply rooted into myself and my ancestry.”

Real Results

From settling to bravely taking steps towards more fulfilling relationships

Before working with me, Katy (Irish & Filipina) was already practicing setting boundaries...but then she would often waffle on them because she was afraid she was asking for too much.

I taught Katy somatic and cognitive frameworks that helped her assess her needs and make decisions more quickly, without questioning herself. Katy says this “cracked open a new way to think about” her relationships. She realized that she had been abandoning her own intuition and needs, and gained the courage to walk away from a relationship where she had been feeling unsatisfied for a long time.

󠀿󠀿󠀢You know you need community but draw blanks on how to create it.

You want closer relationships but you’re stuck repeating certain patterns because you’re terrified of being rejected.

Feeling seen is both the thing you most desperately want AND find really fucking scary.

Relationship Rescue is for you if…

You’re fucking over trying to convince your family that your identity and feelings are valid.

You have friends but still feel so. fucking. alone.

You want a space where you don’t have to over explain what it’s like to be mixed, filter what you say, or preemptively apologize for having certain privileges.
