You might be asking yourself…

How do I find a sense of wholeness and belonging when I feel like I’m not enough and I don’t fit in anywhere?

You want to feel carefree and secure in who you are, but you constantly feel like you have to be on guard.

  • When you go out to socialize with other people of color you feel like a total imposter or you feel like you have to prove to others that you belong.

  • Too often, when you’ve spoken about your experiences of being microaggressed you’ve been dismissed because of your lighter skin.

  • You're the only mixed person in your workplace. Your coworkers don’t see you for who you are; they just stick you in the ‘white’ or ‘other’ category.

  • Not even your family - the people who are supposed to accept you unconditionally - get it.

You’ve built up armor to feel safe, protect yourself from rejection, misunderstanding, microaggressions, but it’s only making you feel more alone.

And it’s keeping you from the relationships that you want:

  • You constantly shapeshift to fit in and now you’re stuck in these friendships where you don’t feel fully seen. Hell, you don’t even know who you are or what’s authentic to you anymore.

  • You’re not dating because you’re worried you’re “too white” for people of color and you’d rather die before dating a white guy.

  • You’re hypervigilant about how much space you’re taking up and worry it’s too “woe is me” to talk with others about the racism and xenophobia you’ve experienced or how much pain you’ve been in since the start of the Genocide in Palestine.

  • You want to learn your Spanish or Tagalog so you can connect with your extended family more easily but you’re worried that you’re not entitled to it.

You’re yearning for a sense of belonging and to stop feeling like you have to hide parts of yourself in order to fit in.

  • You want to feel more connected to ALL your heritages.

  • You want to go on a pilgrimage to Ghana and become a citizen.

  • You want to trust that you can rely on others and be vulnerable about your feelings.

  • You want to be a good example to your kids as they grow up mixed race.

  • You want to figure out how to feel whole and integrate the parts of you that feel separate.

  • You want to be in right relationship with your ancestral practices.

I'm SO ready for this!

You’re suffering from what I call the mixed race belonging wound.

And it can’t be healed by binging TikTok, trying to convince people to see you, another self-help book, or working with a white therapist.

What you actually need is to take more risks in service of the connections you long for. You'll heal your belonging wound when you see life as a playful experiment, not a chance to "prove" yourself.

As a mixed race person you need to:

  • Feel connected to what you actually want in your relationships.

  • Realize when you’re shrinking yourself for other people’s comfort.

  • Build the confidence to handle being asked, what are you? for the millionth time.

  • Grieve the fact that not even your family gets your experience.

  • Put yourself in relational experiences that will challenge and expand the limiting beliefs you have.

My somatic coaching program for mixed race people is equal parts neuroscience and ancient spiritual wisdom.

Together, we’ll work to build enough safety in your body to be vulnerable, authentic, and honest, so you can be seen without shame, feel deeply connected to others people, your culture, and feel fucking fulfilled in your life.

As a trained trauma therapist for nearly a decade and a yoga teacher and somatic practitioner for over 12 years - AND as a mixed kid myself - this is the approach that has not only helped me heal my belonging wound, but also helped me help my clients do the same.

With me, you’ll have a dedicated space to talk to someone who also lives between cultures - you'll never have to over explain to be seen, heard, and understood here.

Let's work together

Kat’s Story

Kat came to me struggling deeply with a sense of belonging. They were jealous of friends who shared cultural identities and felt insecure about what others thought of them as a mixed race Black person. Whenever they felt misunderstood, they would feel physically sick.

Inside 1:1 coaching with me, we worked on coping with the physical and emotional feelings that arose when they were triggered. We also worked on gaining the confidence to take risks to enter Black-centered spaces without shrinking themselves or overcompensating.

As a result, Kat ended coaching more confident about building relationships that felt good for them, and most importantly, from a place of authenticity.

Real Results

Lily’s Story

Lily was struggling to manage her anxiety and felt her nervous system was always on high alert. As a result, she had become quite the hermit.

In coaching, I taught Lily tools to help her befriend her anxiety and respond to it, rather than feeling flooded by it or trying to outrun it.

As a result, she was able to feel more safe in her body, which helped her feel more prepared to seek new connections.

What’s possible when we work together?

My program consists of three key transformations to help you heal your belonging wounds and reconnect with your innate wholeness through relationships, new experiences, and activism.

Transform feeling fragmented to an unapologetic sense of wholeness

We’ll deepen your relationship with your body, and all the different parts of your identity and personality. You’ll come to feel secure in yourself and embrace yourself as a layered, perfectly multiplicitous being.

Transform questioning into self-trust

We’ll work to get unstuck from confusion and binary thinking traps and dream big to identify what you really long for. You’ll cultivate a sense of self-trust to handle any situation that comes your way.

Transform fear into resilience

You’ll learn how to support your nervous system with somatic practices when you feel anxious or overwhelmed and cultivate rituals for tending to grief. You’ll feel prepared to experiment and take bold risks in service of your goals.

Session One: Uncover your belonging story — so we can write a new chapter

Our work begins with a session focused on your belonging history. This will be your space to share your story in your words. The ups and downs, beliefs, and blocks that you feel are keeping you from showing up and deeply connecting to who you are. We'll explore what feels easy and what feels sticky, and what you want to feel like or have at the end of our time together. You’ll leave feeling inspired and with at least a few options for your belonging project.

Session Two: Your Rooted and Ready Review

We’ll outline your existing sources of support and inspiration and build a tool you can reference when you need a boost - whether that be an altar or a vision board or another reflection tool (I have a few up my sleeve!)

Session Three: Solidify Your Belonging Project

We’ll finalize your belonging project and begin working on whatever needs attention - inside and outside - in order to make it happen.

Session Four: Build Your I Got This Kit

We’ll identify what kinds of practices will help you regulate yourself, what kind of resources you need to call on, and what gaps we’ll need to fill as we continue working together.

You’ll wrap up our first month with a solid understanding of how you got here, a clear vision of your goals, and a set of tools that will continue to grow and evolve throughout the course of our work together.

I'm ready to be held through this process

And after working together…picture this:

Someone asks… “what are you?”…

And instead of shrinking or lashing out you take a deep breath and respond however it feels right - whether that’s listing all your racial identities or hitting them with a witty “I’m human.”

You’re curious about practicing start practicing Ifá…

And you figure out how to come into right relationship with the tradition so you can practice without questioning if you're appropriating or worrying that you’re gonna get struck down by the ancestors.

You see an Instagram ad for an all-Latinx yoga retreat…

And you book your ticket without overthinking it.

You want to get involved in organizing efforts…

And you stop overthinking about how much privilege you have. You feel clear on how you can show up in social justice work in a way that both honors your experience and the realities of colorism.

I want this confidence!

You might be wondering....yeah..but can this actually help me?

To which I say - hello, dear belonging wound, yes, I can help you even if:

  • You’re white assumed. This is a unique experience within the mixed community that is equally deserving of support.

  • You’re “only a quarter” of something. You’re still mixed and you’re still welcome here, bb.

  • You’re neurodivergent (me too!). Honestly, most of my clients are neurospicy and it’s never been a problem.

  • You have a trauma history. I’m also a trauma therapist, supporting folks with trauma is my jam. This is a soft space for you to land and heal.

  • You’re Queer (samesies) or hold other marginalized social identities. Our work will also support your experience as a person with intersectional identities.

  • You’re an introvert. Me too, boo. We can build you a great community without burning out your social battery.

  • You currently have no idea what the fuck you’re feeling in your body. Good news - I’m pretty good at helping people build this skill.

  • [Insert whatever other insecurity is coming up for you - I’ve worked with mixed people of alllll kinds!]
