Your entire life, you've been on the receiving end of inappropriate questions, hurtful comments, and confused stares, and it's affected you deeply.

And - worse yet - no one seems to get it. Your family and friends can’t relate. People are always invalidating your reality and telling you you’re just being sensitive. Even the therapists you’ve worked with haven’t been able to support you in the ways you need.

It’s left you feeling fragmented, empty, and like you don’t belong anywhere.

And yet, you have this constant - and very human, I might add - yearning to feel whole. And to have relationships where you feel held, seen, and heard.

A part of you hasn’t given up - you want to believe that you can find belonging.

You're in the right place.

How I’ve helped my mixed clients heal their belonging wounds & reconnect to their innate wholeness

Feeling seen in their mixed-ness

“Working with Raina was like finally having all the dots connect. As a person who is never just this or that, I find my experience is never fully accounted for in other spaces that center binaries. Raina's ability to weave theory, lived experience and practice together, designed for me as a mixed person, was deeply resonant.”

Building relationships without worrying about being rejected

“I was struggling with a sense of belonging as a mixed person, and a lot of fears around potential rejection and what others thought of me. I feel much more grounded in my own sense of self and able to distinguish others' needs from my own. I'm confident that I can build relationships that feel good for me from a place of authenticity, and can hold space for any fears or nerves that arise. Our work together has helped me feel more deeply rooted into myself and my ancestry.”

Feeling safe enough in her body to seek community

“Raina's knowledge of how trauma lives in the body and her techniques to become more safely embodied have helped me become an active participant in my life again. She’s given me the tools to seek community and connection in new and exciting ways!”

Hi, I’m Raina

As a trauma therapist for nearly a decade, a yoga teacher for over 13 years, and a community health educator for even longer, I saw for healing spaces for mixed race people that:

(1) specifically addressed the somatic impact of racialized trauma and monoracism,

and (2) centered the very foundational human need for connection and belonging.

And so, Mixed Race Belonging was born.

When you work with me you’ll be fully supported and seen in the unique experiences of being multiracial or multicultural. I’ll show you that belonging - truly satisfying belonging from the inside-out and outside-in - is possible.

There are a couple of ways I can help you.

Both options are virtual, so no matter where you are, we can work together.

  • Bold Belonging

A 1:1 somatic coaching experience to help you accomplish a personal belonging project without feeling held back by your fears, insecurities, or what other people think.

  • Belonging Building Blocks

A group program helping you develop the skills to feel more connected to yourself and others so you can cultivate the community you’ve always dreamed of.
